Reeling Kings hope to avoid winless road trip in Miami

Basketball Betting Lines

01/23/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Miami Heat aim to sweep their home-and-home series with the reeling Sacramento Kings for a second straight season tonight when the two teams meet in the shadow of South Beach.

The Heat finished a brief two-game road trip in winning fashion Friday night when Dwyane Wade finished with 32 points and 10 assists, as Miami routed the Washington Wizards, 112-88, at Verizon Center.

Jermaine O'Neal finished with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Michael Beasley added 15 points and eight boards for the Heat, who rebounded from Wednesday's 39-point loss at Charlotte.

"This is a very professional group that cares," Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said. "So we were able to bounce back and have a very honest session yesterday where it was ugly. Watching that film and watching our motor and our spirit was not up to our standards that we've been playing at for most of the last month or three weeks."

Miami shot 57 percent from the field overall, and even better from three-point range, making 13-of-22 (59.1 percent).

The Kings, meanwhile, fell to a miserable 0-5 on a six-game road trip Friday when Dwight Howard scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, as the Orlando Magic earned an easy 100-84 win over Sacramento at Amway Arena.

Tyreke Evans poured in 19 points and Jason Thompson finished with 10 points and as many rebounds for the Kings, who have dropped six straight overall and 11 of their past 12 games.

"We're going to have some games like this," Kings head coach Paul Westphal. "It never feels good...We couldn't get anything going tonight."

Miami has won three straight games in the series, including a 115-102 triumph in Sacramento earlier this season. The Heat have also taken seven straight over the Kings in south Florida.
