Hornets visit Bulls in Windy City

Basketball Betting Lines

12/26/2009 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The New Orleans Hornets will hit the road tonight, when they pay a visit to the Chicago Bulls at the United Center.

New Orleans will also visit Houston and is just 2-11 away from the Big Easy this season. It has won three of its last four games, including Wednesday's 108-102 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Chris Paul had 20 points, seven assists and five rebounds, while David West ended with 14 points and eight rebounds in the win. Peja Stojakovic chipped in 13 points and Devin Brown added 11 for New Orleans, which improved to 11-3 at home. Emeka Okafor had 10 points and 14 rebounds in the victory.

"It is really good for us. Now we have another opportunity to get back to .500. It may be our third or fourth opportunity at that. Not only do we get that chance but it is on the road again and get a chance to prove ourselves," Paul said. "We just tried to take advantage of them inside; that is why we tried to get the ball to D West, and Emeka and those guys. We are at our best when we are in transition and with a team like that you get the opportunity on long shots."

The struggling Bulls will open a quick two-game homestand Saturday versus New Orleans and Indiana, and are 8-6 as the host this season. They have lost two straight and eight of the last 11 games, including Tuesday's 88-81 loss against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Derrick Rose led all scorers with 26 points, while Luol Deng added 23 points and eight rebounds. Joakim Noah totaled a double-double with 10 points and 21 rebounds for the Bulls, who lost for the eighth straight time away from the United Center.

"We can't play just a half of basketball. We are not that good of a team to do that," said Bulls head coach Vinny Del Negro.

In injury news for Chicago, forward Tyrus Thomas (forearm surgery) is probable for Saturday's game against New Orleans.

Chicago has won two straight and five of seven contests against the Hornets, who have lost three of their last four trips to the Windy City.
